Hi Everyone.
We live in Mooloolaba, Australia now. I moved there eleven years ago, after meeting Ivana in Andorra. We have two children, Saim, who is 10 years old, and Mariyam, who is 8 years old. Both are pretty much digital natives. Ivana is originally from the former Yugoslavia and now works at the University of Queensland writing and teaching on peace education.
After KL, I spent 18 plus years in Honolulu. First as a student, studying political science and then futures studies, and then working for the Hawaii courts for a decade. I went back to uni and finished up my phd writing on macrohistory and the Indian philosopher/mystic Sarkar in 1990. Then moved to Australia.
These days it is running courses on how to think about the long term future for cities, associations and companies. As well, I focus on the deep myths that shape how we understand ourselves and others. More details of my work are at www.metafuture.org
On the personal side, I try and body surf every day. The kids are slowly learning but wave timing takes a while. I miss basketball a lot but generally only get a chance to play it when I am in Taiwan, where I teach on a regular basis, as Professor at Tamkang University. Otherwise it is long walks and generally doing what we can to stay fit.
I remember my years at iskl fondly, indeed, they were the two best years of my schooling, and I hope we can all connect again.
Sohail
