I was at ISKL from 1967 - 1970. My family left Malaysia because my father (then working for Pan Am), was transferred to Bali. Since the schooling (in English), wasn't available; we kids (sisters Beth and Jenny and brother David), were shipped off to Australia to attend boarding schools. In Mid December it was time to take our "Summer Holiday" so it was off to Bali for a month of R&R. On New Years Eve, my father told us that we were being transferred back to San Francisco. Our summer break was extended until March at which time we then left for the States.

We settled back here in the Bay Area in 1971 (I'm originally from here too). Four years later, I graduated from High School, got into a horrific car accident (so I was told...), and then had to put off my plan to travel the world for another year. I worked full-time that year and then took off to see the world. I was gone for 8 months and made the fantastic mistake of going back to Bali early on in the trip. Instead of staying for a few weeks, I ended up staying two and a half months. I then finally made it to Europe to meet up with an old friend in Portugal, traveled with him for a couple months before deciding the cold Winter in Europe was not for me. Back to Bali I went to stay another one and a half months. It was back to the US and time to start college. That next decade I just basically played. I remember thinking of it as enjoying "semi retirement" while I was still of (relatively...), sound mind and body. In those ten years I accumulated enough credits to transfer as a Junior to a State University. I was on my way. At that time I moved back to my parents home so that I could attend school full time. Two years later, I got my Bachelor's Degree and continued living with my parents (since thinking a BA was not enough to get me a job I'd be happy with). It was back to school to get a Special Ed. teaching credential. (I had worked with Special Edders when in high school and just loved the experience.) Two years later, I had my

Old Friends...   Where was I(?), oh yes

Upon returning to the States, I took another teaching job working with Elementary students who were Severely Multiply Handicapped. That was 13 plus years ago. I'm still with the same County but, am now teaching a Transition class of students aged 18 to 22 years. In these 13 plus years, I have also married (Gabriela), and instantly became a father to a then eleven year old daughter named Maria (her name is Maria, and she calls herself Malu but, everyone knows her as Luca).

I've been back to Bali (and Malaysia for that matter), a few times these past 34 plus years. We are actually heading back to Bali in July '05 (after the summer school session), to look over our future home front. I've tried a couple ways to get myself back to Bali - on a permanent basis in the past but, no such luck. The last time out there, in talking with a friend, I decided to retire to Bali. That I can do without having to worry about employment. So, if all goes according to plan; Gabriela, Malu and I will be moving there in 2012.

And they all lived happily ever after.

credentials. After a year of teaching kids with behavioral disorders (due to being born addicted to a variety of drugs), it was time to quit. They were not the population of kids I had envisioned teaching. That Summer, I went to France to hang out with Dennis Andersson. (Dennis was living in Paris at the time working for IBM.) We had an incredible time traveling around the South of France before driving up to Kiel, Germany where we caught a ferry over to Sweden to visit with his parents and sister Lisbeth and her family. Prior to meeting up with Dennis, I had spent a week with Cathy Weaver and her family out in Rhode Island.
