I moved back to Trollhättan, Sweden in 1970 together with my parents and my sister Lisbeth who is four years younger than me. I finished grades 8 and 9 and four years of high school. Then I started university in Göteborg, it is the second largest city in Sweden and it is on the west coast, about an hours drive from Trollhättan. Here I got a “Master of Science” in Mechanical Engineering.
After I had finished my education I got a job with IBM and moved to Stockholm where they had a plant making printers.
In 1989 I moved to Paris where IBM has their European headquarters. During all these years I had been searching for love without much success. I had a few relationships but for the most part I was single. Then in 1991 I found her! Thanks to my old ISKL connections. KC Anderson in our class in Malaysia and I had stayed in touch through all the years. I have visited him in San Francisco in 1976 and in 1982 and he has visited me in Europe in 1972 and in 1991. When I was in S.F. in 1976 I met KC’s friend Dave Howard. In 1991 David was in Paris on a business trip and he asked if we should go out for dinner together. Dave told me that his girlfriend Kelly had a friend Kathryn who also was in Paris and the three of us went out together. A few months later Kathryn moved in with me. In 1993 she moved with me to Sweden and we got married in 1994. We now have two wonderful daughters Helene, nine years old and Eva who is seven.
Through KC I found out about ISKL’s website and I read about the reunion in Vancouver and found LeeAnn’s e-mail address and after writing to her I got the address to her website and then the link here. It’s great!
When I heard about the reunion in Kansas City I thought that it was kind of amazing, because my wife Kathryn comes from Kansas City so I have been there quite a few times.
When I was there in 1994 Kathryn and I actually drove to Des Moines to visit a friend of hers and I guess that is very close to where you live Connie.
In April this year (2004) all four of us visited Kathryn’s brother Mark who lives near Tyler in Texas and we drove with him and his wife up to Kansas City where Kathryn’s other brother Richard was getting married. So I know that you will have a long drive Louise, if you plan to drive from San Benito. I guess that might be twice as long as what we had from Tyler.
We moved back to Trolhättan in 1997 and I now work for Saab (the car company now owned by GM).
